Srinagar, Sep 21 (KNO): Senior National Conference (NC) leader and the party's candidate for the Hazratbal Assembly constituency, Salman Ali Sagar, led a series of roadshows on Saturday, alongside Srinagar Member of Parliament, Aga Ruhullah Mehdi. As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the rallies, which saw large turnouts, were held across the constituency, with participants reaffirming their commitment to protecting Kashmir's unique identity and safeguarding its core interests. Addressing the gatherings, MP Aga Ruhullah Mehdi lauded Salman as a powerful and influential figure, particularly for the youth of the region. He described Salman as an "icon" for young people, representing their aspirations for new opportunities and a hopeful future. Mehdi voiced concerns over the current challenges facing Kashmir, particularly the lack of job opportunities for youth, and claimed that the region's dignity and honour are under threat like never before. "Time and again, it has been proven that only the National Conference has the strength to resist the ongoing onslaught against Jammu and Kashmir's core identity," Mehdi said. He further urged the people to take advantage of the current moment to deliver a strong message to those undermining the state’s prestige and status. Mehdi praised Salman for his long-standing dedication and active involvement in grassroots efforts. "He is among the very few leaders who has stayed connected to the people, understanding their needs and aspirations. Hazratbal now has a unique chance to elect an able and just representative. I am confident that Salman will secure a thumping victory," he added. In his address, Salman Ali Sagar reaffirmed his determination to fight against attempts to disenfranchise the people of Kashmir and diminish their right to live with dignity. He emphasized his vision for the transformation of Hazratbal, promising improvements in education, healthcare, and employment opportunities for the youth. "The people of Hazratbal, particularly the youth, deserve better opportunities and brighter prospects. I pledge that this constituency will soon witness remarkable progress and emerge as one of the best in Jammu and Kashmir," Salman said, vowing to bring prosperity and development to the region—(KNO)
